In the UK the nursing and teaching profession has been described as the most stressful. But my belief is that we all get stressed to a certain degree.

The work related stress costs the economy £700m every year.

We all get stressed at work, at home or in personal life. Stress is a protective mechanism. The body releases certain hormones to prepare us for any situation. But stress is nothing more than an over protection by your body.

There are some things that we can do about stress.

1. One of the reasons we get stressed is that we become dehydrated. We should drink about 4-6 glasses of water everyday. So take a sip of water every now and then.

2. You can always have a cup of tea

It may not seem tasty enough but it has lots of anti-oxidants properties that will make you feel better. In the long tea have lots of other health benefits. You can drink orange juice if you wish. Vitamin C and anti-oxidants makes you feel better. That is why we have orange juice in the morning.

3. Crying has the ability to remove stress. Not much is known about the psychology of crying but it has the ability to remove stress. I good sob helps lot of people to feel better. Try it, you will be surprised.

4. As you leave the building or the place of work; tell yourself that you have left the building. It is supposed to make your feel better that you have just completed your days work.
